Change the name of an operating system on the boot manager Windows 11

To change the name of an operating system on the boot options menu in Windows 11, follow these steps:

1.  Open an elevated Command Prompt or PowerShell as an administrator.

2. Type the following command to check the identifier of the Windows 11 entry you want to rename:

bcdedit

Look for the Windows Boot Loader section and find the description you want to change (e.g., {current}).

3. Now, use the following command to set the new name for the operating system:

bcdedit /set {identifier} description "New Name"

Replace {identifier} with the actual identifier from step 2 and "New Name" with the desired name (e.g., “Windows 11 Home”).

That’s it! After making this change, the updated name will appear in the boot options menu.
